YARD:
We love the privacy of the backyard! The 5-foot privacy fence ensures your safety, while the acres of protected green space behind the house give you a sense of living in your own forest. The yard is really lovely during every season; we have dogwoods blooming in the spring, beautiful foliage and shade in the summer, and a view of deer walking through the woods after the leaves drop in the fall and winter.
EXTERIOR:
We love the stone and brick exterior of the home – it feels very French country and elegant! The large front porch is perfect for morning coffee or an afternoon game of backgammon. The front yard trees provide shade and privacy. The exterior has been freshly painted and the house received a new roof in February of this year!
INTERIOR:
There are so many things that we love about the interior of our home! Our favorite room is the keeping room off of the kitchen. The windows provide a beautiful view of the trees, and it feels like we are living in a treehouse. In the winter, the gas fireplace makes the keeping room very cozy. It’s a perfect space for entertaining and enjoying time with your family or friends.
The kitchen is beautiful and spacious with cherry cabinets, granite counters, and subway tile backsplash. We’ve had so many wonderful celebrations and parties in our home, and the kitchen makes it easy to host guests! If the weather keeps you from morning coffee on the front porch, the kitchen window seat will do in a pinch!
One of our favorite features of the house is the beautiful molding throughout; it manages to make the house feel grand and luxurious, yet still cozy and homey. In addition, each of the bedrooms has its own private bath, which has been a huge blessing! Our guests have always appreciated the privacy of our upstairs guest suite, which has a private bathroom with a double vanity and dressing area.
BASEMENT:
We’ve spent so much time enjoying the library and pub in the basement! The library, with its wall of built-in bookshelves and gas log fireplace, is perfect for book lovers; it can double as a study, or even an in-home classroom. The pub is a wonderful gathering place, with plenty of room for an 8-foot pool table, a pub table, and a bar!
THE SUBDIVISION:
Stonemill Creek is a fantastic neighborhood! The social committee is very active and plans multiple events, including an Easter Egg Hunt and a Halloween Hay Ride! The pool is beautiful, and the clubhouse is available to the residents to rent for parties or other gatherings. The tennis courts are well-maintained and easily available. The best part of the neighborhood is the new catfish pond and trailhead! It is so enjoyable to feed the catfish with food provided by the pond. The trail provides a lovely walk around the pond and great exercise!
THE AREA:
We love the schools in the area and have great success with Kemp Elementary, Lost Mountain Middle School, and Hillgrove HS!
There is so much to do in this area! You can take a quick trip to Redtop Mountain or Kennesaw Battlefield for a hike. There are always festivals, concerts, farmer’s markets, and more happening in Marietta Square, which is just a 15-minute drive away! We love shopping at The Avenue of West Cobb, and we continue to keep discovering places that we love.
